The MWC is just around the corner and we are expecting to see some groundbreaking and innovative releases. Though the event begins from February 25, LG has gone out on a limb and has already announced three new phones, a few days ahead of the mega event. They announced the LG Q60, LG K50 and the LG K40 smartphones on February 20 and the phones will be on display at the LG booth at MWC.
All the three phones that have been announced will be a part of LG’s mid-range smartphones. The Q series and the K series phones have been around for the past year an now, new versions of the phones will come out soon. Here’s all you need to know about the three smartphones.
The LG Q60 is the most premium smartphone of the three. It sports a 6.26-inch display along with a waterdrop style notch up top. The phone has a resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:9, to keep it in line with competing smartphones.
As of now, LG has not revealed the processor or the software that the phone will use. However, it is known that the Q60 will come with 3GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Apart from that, the storage can be expanded using a microSD card.
Since the Q60 is the most premium phone of the lot, it comes with three cameras at the back of the phone. It uses a 16-megapixel primary rear sensor and a secondary 2-megapixel depth sensing camera for portrait mode. The third lens will be a 5-megapixel Super Wide Angle lens that has been seen on LG flagship phones.
LG is pitching this phone on the basis that it has received military grade protection and has been tested in various environments to confirm the same. Additionally, the phone will come with a 3,500mAH battery on board.
The LG K50 is a lot like the Q60. They both have the same displays with similar resolutions. The phones also use the same 3GB RAM but this K50 has only 32GB of onboard storage. Another difference in the two phones comes in the camera. The phone comes with the standard dual rear camera setup and sports a primary 16-megapixel rear camera and a secondary 2-megapixel depth sensor for portrait mode. Up front and in the notch, the phone sports a 13-megapixel camera that comes with enhanced AI capabilities.
The K40 is the most budget friendly phone of the lot. It features a notch less display with rather thick bezels at the top and bottom. It has a 5.7-inch display with a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels. The phone has the same military grade protection as the other two, however, it only has 2GB of RAM, which is a little underwhelming in 2019.
Apart from that, the phone has only one rear camera which is a 16-megapixel sensor. The camera is said to have in built AI features and depth sensing. The front camera of the phone is an 8-megapixel camera and an LED flash is present at the front of the phone. The phone will come with a reasonably sized 3,000mAH battery.
The three phones are set to be launched at MWC, from February 25- February 28. Users can try out the phone at the LG booth at the event. The company will also reveal pricing and processor details at the event. At any rate, we are very excited to see what the MWC has to offer.
