Motorola One, Moto G7 launched in India at these unbelievably absurd prices

Lenovo-owned Motorola today finally launched the Motorola One and the Moto G7 in India, but the prices suggest that the company is slightly out of touch with the realities of the market. Either that, or that they are late by over an year.

In a market that is teeming with highly competitive devices that offer great value for money, Motorola’s launch prices of the Motorola One and the Moto G7 point at the company trying to charge a premium for its smartphones, for seemingly no reason.

Motorola One specifications

As the name signifies, the Motorola One is an Android One smartphone and runs on pure stock Android 9.0 Pie out of the box. It comes with a 5.9-inch HD+ resolution display with a wide notch.

The Motorola One is powered by the Snapdragon 625 chipset, paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. This will, in most cases, make it difficult for Motorola especially when it costs almost 40% more than more powerful smartphones from the likes of Xiaomi.

In terms of imaging, the Motorola One has a 13MP primary camera along with a 2MP secondary camera. On the front, it has an 8MP camera.

Other features of the Motorola One include a fingerprint sensor, P2i water repellent nano coating, dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. It is powered by a 3,000mAh battery.

The Moto G7 is slightly more powerful and is better specced. It has a 6.2-inch Full HD+ display with a waterdrop notch. It also runs on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box, offering an almost-stock Android experience.

In terms of performance, the Moto G7 is powered by the Snapdragon 632 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage that can be expanded using a microSD card.

In terms of imaging, the Moto G7 has a 12MP primary camera and a 5MP secondary camera on the back. On the front, it has an 8MP camera.

Other features of the Moto G7 include a fingerprint sensor, P2i water repellent nano coating, dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. It is powered by a 3,000mAh battery.

Pricing and availability

The Motorola One is priced at ₹13,999 whereas the Moto G7 is priced at ₹16,999. Both the smartphones are already available for purchase on Flipkart and in offline stores across the country.
