HMD Global has introduced two new variants of the Nokia 5.1 Plus in India today. The two new variants offer two different RAM configurations and bring more options to users looking for a good smartphone in the budget segment.
The Nokia 5.1 Plus was launched in India back in September last year at a price of ₹10,999, but the Finnish company only brought the 3GB RAM variant to the country. Now, there are two more options available in the form of 4GB and 6GB RAM.
The Nokia 5.1 Plus features a fairly huge notch, with the display measuring 5.86-inch with HD+ resolution and an aspect ratio of 19:9. The smartphone is a part of the Android One program, and runs on the Android 9.0 Pie update now.
Powering the Nokia 5.1 Plus is the octa-core Mediatek Helio P60 chipset, paired with a Mali G72-MP3 GPU. In terms of storage, the Nokia 5.1 Plus comes in 3GB, 4GB and 6GB RAM options, with 32GB and 64GB storage respectively. The internal storage can be expanded up to 400GB with a microSD card.
In terms of optics, the Nokia 5.1 Plus features a dual camera setup on the back, much like most smartphones in its price range. It has a 13MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF and a secondary 5MP camera. On the front, the phone sports an 8MP wide angle camera with f/2.2 aperture.
Other features of the Nokia 5.1 Plus include fingerprint sensor, dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, dual band Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, FM Radio, 3.5mm audio jack and a USB Type C port. The phone is powered by a 3,000mAh battery.
Ajey Mehta, Country Head, HMD Global, said on the launch,
“Fans have loved the Nokia 5.1 Plus, having rated it highly on various channels. We continue to receive love from fans and so, here we are, announcing new higher memory variants of the smartphone, that I have no doubt, will be even more a gamers’ delight.”
The Nokia 5.1 Plus starts at ₹10,999 for the 3GB option, ₹14,499 for the 4GB option and ₹16,499 for the 6GB option.
