Samsung Galaxy S10 to feature DPSS M9 OLED display: colors, fingerprint sensor details revealed

Samsung is gearing up to launch the Galaxy S10 around Mobile World Congress next year. But even as we wait for the official launch, new rumors about the next Samsung flagship continue to find their way on the internet. In the latest round, details about the Galaxy S10’s display, colors and the fingerprint sensor have been revealed.

According to a new report, Samsung might use Diode Pumped Solid State (DPSS) laser-drilled holes for the front camera on the Galaxy S10. It is worth noting that Samsung had revealed its notch designs at its annual developer conference in San Francisco. At the conference, Samsung showed off Infinity-U, Infinity-V, Infinity-O and New Infinity, giving us a peek into what to expect from future Samsung devices.

With the Galaxy S10, Samsung is going to use the Infinity-O notch. This notch design has a circular hole on the display which will house the front camera. It is not known yet exactly how big of a hole/notch it is going to be on the Galaxy S10, but it will an industry-first when Samsung launches the phone next year.

Apart from the notch for the camera, Samsung will also have another cutout on the display for the infrared sensor. The Galaxy S10 will also feature a next-generation M9 AMOLED panel, and Samsung seems to be preparing to launch three models of its next flagship device. According to reports, the Galaxy S10 will come in two premium variants and one affordable variant. The SM-G973x and SM-G975x could be called Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ and might come with 5.8-inch and 6.44-inch displays respectively.

Additionally, Samsung could also launch a Galaxy S10 Lite, with the model number SM-G970x, featuring a 5.8-inch display. However, while the Galaxy S10 and S10+ will reportedly come with an in-display fingerprint sensor, the S10 Lite might come with a regular version, along with just 64GB of internal storage.

Lastly, the Galaxy S10 might also come in four color options - Black, White, Green and Yellow.

Other than that, we know that Samsung will use its Exynos 9820 chipset in the Galaxy S10.
