Samsung yesterday announced its flagship Galaxy S10 series at the company’s annual Galaxy Unpacked event in San Francisco. The company announced three devices, the Galaxy S10e, the Galaxy S10 and the premium Galaxy S10+. Along with this, the company also revealed the Samsung Galaxy Fold and the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G.
If you don’t already know this, the Samsung Galaxy S10e is a new addition to the Galaxy S series and has been placed as the most affordable varaint in the company’s flagship series. Apart from this, the series includes the usual Galaxy S10 and the top-end Galaxy S10 variants.
The three devices in the Galaxy S10 series feature some similar specifications, including the basic design, chipset dynamic AMOLED display with HDR10+ support, Fast Wireless Charging 2.0 and Wi-Fi ax support. Additionally, all three devices run on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box.
In terms of security, the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ feature an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, which is known to be more secure than traditional optical fingerprint sensors. The Galaxy S10e still uses a side-mounted traditional fingerprint sensor.
In terms of performance, the Samsung Galaxy S10 series is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC coupled with Adreno 640 GPU or Exynos 9 Series 9820 SoC coupled with Mali-G76 MP12 GPU depending on your location. In India, the devices will be equipped with the Exynos chipset.
Starting with the Samsung Galaxy S10e, it features a 5.8-inch Full HD+ (2280 × 1080 pixels) resolution Dynamic AMOLED display with HDR10+ support and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
In terms of internal storage, the device has been announced in two variants - 6GB RAM + 128GB internal storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 512GB via a microSD card.
Coming to the camera department, the Samsung Galaxy S10e features a dual camera setup at the back, consisting a 12MP Dual Pixel primary camera with f/2.4-f/1.5 variable aperture, OIS and a secondary 16MP 123-degree ultra wide sensor with f/2.2 aperture and up to 8x digital zoom. On the front, the device sports a 10MP selfie camera with f/1.9 aperture and an 80° wide-angle lens.
It is powered by a 3,100mAh battery with wired and wireless fast charging support. Connectivity options on the device include dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ax, Bluetooth 5, GPS, NFC and a USB Type-C 3.1 port.
Coming to the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+, the two devices feature a 6.1-inch and 6.4-inch Quad HD+ Curved Dynamic AMOLED displays respectively. The displays support HDR10+ and are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6.
Both the devices feature the same chipset as the Galaxy S10e, however, they differ in terms of storage variants. While the Galaxy S10 is available in 8GB RAM + 128GB internal storage and 8GB RAM + 512GB internal storage variants, the Samsung Galaxy S10+ has been launched in 8GB RAM + 128GB internal storage, 8GB RAM + 512GB internal storage and 12GB RAM + 1TB internal storage variants.
Coming to the camera department, the Samsung Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ feature a triple camera setup at the back consisting a 12MP Dual Pixel primary camera with f/2.4-f/1.5 variable aperture, OIS, a 12MP telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture and a 45-degree FOV and a 16MP 123-degree ultra-wide sensor with f/2.2 aperture, 0.5X/2X optical zoom and up to 10x digital zoom.
Coming to the front camera, the Galaxy S10 features a 10MP Dual Pixel camera with f/1.9 aperture and an 80-degree wide angle lens. The Galaxy S10+ features the same 10MP sensor along with an additional 8MP depth sensor with f/2.2 aperture and 90-degree FOV.
The Samsung Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ are powered by a 3,400 and a 4,100mAh battery respectively. Both the device support wired and wireless fast charging and are equipped with wireless PowerShare. Connectivity options on the devices include dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ax, Bluetooth 5, GPS, NFC and a USB Type-C 3.1 port.
Starting with the Samsung Galaxy S10e, it has been priced at ₹55,900 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, which is the only one that will be available in India.
The Galaxy S10 has been priced at ₹66,900 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant and ₹84,900 for the 8GB RAM + 512GB storage variant.
Coming to the Galaxy S10+, it has been priced at ₹73,900 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, ₹91,900 for the 8GB RAM + 512GB storage variant and ₹1,17,900 for the 12GB RAM + 1TB storage variant.
