The Terrifying Nightmares win PUBG Mobile Campus Championship 2018

The PUBG Mobile Campus Championship, hosted by Tencent and PUBG Corp. concluded yesterday in Bengaluru, marking the end of the first large-scale PUBG Mobile eSports tournament in India.

The PUBG Mobile Campus Championship 2018’s title was captured by Mumbai’s The Terrifying Nightmares. Starting with over 2,50,000 teams, by the finale only 20 teams remained standing.

Along with the title, The Terrifying Nightmares also took home the prize money of Rs. 15,00,000 and an Oppo F9 Pro for each member of the team. As per Tencent, the event with a prize pool of Rs. 50,00,000 attracted over 2,50,000 teams from over 1,000 colleges across 30 cities.

The second and third teams received Rs. 5,00,000 and Rs. 2,00,000 respectively, along with Oppo F9 Pro smartphones for all the team members. Apart from these prizes, PUBG Corp. also announced winners for various other categories.

The title of ‘The MVP of Campus Championship’ was bagged by Team NSD’s Eleen Raj for getting the maximum MVP awards in the final round. Hardeep Singh from the team R4W Official had the maximum revives and was awarded ‘The Medic’ title. Jatin Gupta from the team 6ix9ine had the highest kills in one round and was awarded the tag of ‘The Lone Ranger’.

Commenting on the event, Chang Han Kim, CEO, PUBG Corporation said, “The response to PUBG MOBILE in India has been colossal. The manner in which the game has taken the country by storm is nothing short of overwhelming. The game has transcended the boundaries of being merely a mobile game to becoming India’s game of choice. While the growth of the game itself has been rock solid, the eSports scene in Indian gaming has also been thriving.”
