Knocksense: A local content and recommendations platform

Delhi and Mumbai are perhaps India’s biggest business hubs and travelling between them is currently very time consuming. It is something that isn’t even avoidable as many professionals need to visit either city on a regular basis. To tackle the time consuming commutes, there will soon be a super-fast train that will connect the two mega-cities. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming Delhi to Mumbai High-Speed Link.

Why the need for a high speed train?

Currently, the time taken to travel from Delhi to Mumbai by train is about 16 to 17 hours. The travel is too time consuming and something that must be cut down in order to increase the appeal of the cities. Both the cities are massive hubs for budding businesses and the high speed corridor will certainly make matters convenient for them.

Apart from that, the trains will also herald a new era of long distance travels. Since the new trains will be bullet trains imported from Japan, it will bring not only Delhi and Mumbai on the map of some of the most developed cities, but also India as a whole. The trains are flush with great amenities to make travelling a much better experience than what we are used to.

How did the decision come about?

In India, trains have long been the life line and the preferred means of transport. However, due to out fast lifestyles, the trains and the systems have now become outdated, which leads to the need of a faster transport system.

The railway corridors will be built under the project ‘Mission Raftaar’ and the trains are said to reach speeds of up to 160 kilometers per hour. For the past couple of years, the project for connecting major cities with high speed trains was in the works and now, this phase of the project should be functional by 2022.

The move to make a high speed corridor is one of the best developments that we have heard of recently and it points towards a progressive and more infrastructurally sound India.
