As of now, with the help of the automated Material Recovery Facility (MRF) set up at Devguradia trenching ground, the dry waste is segregated into 12 different categories. Augmenting the ongoing vaccination drive in the city, the District Magistrate of Lucknow has now scraped the mandatory registration required before taking the vaccine against COVID. With the implementation of the walk-in vaccination system, the residents of Lucknow can now directly head to the vaccination centres and take the first or second jab without having to make a prior booking. The decision to do away with this prerequisite registration was taken by the DM in a meeting on Friday.

Despite facing challenges due to the ongoing COVID crisis, the eye bank of KGMU, run under the ophthalmology department has conducted 1,035 transplants in the last ten months. With this, the doctors successfully managed to provide eyesight to over 1,000 visually-impaired people.

Three new zebras from Israel's Ramat Gan Safari were welcomed by Nawab Wajid Ali Shah Zoological Park in Lucknow yesterday. Reportedly, two males and one female aged between two to three years have come all the way from Israel's Zoological Center Tel Aviv-Ramat Gan, commonly known as Safari Ramat Gan. As per the officials of the zoo, another set of three zebras will arrive in Lucknow in a week's time.
