Knocksense: A local content and recommendations platform

There’s something quite hearty and satisfying about Punjabi food. A plate of hot chole-kulche with a side of pickled onions or a bowl of spicy rajma-chawal with achaar, can easily score the goal for us when hungry!

Be it a glass of spiced mathha to begin your mornings or a box of gur para at night after dinner, the vivid Punjabi culture thrives in almost every household, some way or the other. After all, Punjabi cuisine makes for a wholesome culinary showstopper on any given occasion!

From being hailed as the curator of authentic tandoori food to being regarded as a greasy and meat-heavy cookery, our love for Punjabi grubs is unbounded.

So there’s a newbie in town all the way from Punjab, which has taken a seat in the lanes of Khar and it’s giving us epicureans a ride to the pinds of Punjab.

For the eyes!

As you step into Punjab Da Chulah here in Khar, the vibrant colours and a simple decor of a typical Punjabi dhaba moulded into a contemporary set-up will grace your senses. The dominant reds, greens and yellows will transport you directly to the lively culture of Punjab and the hospitality is a reminder of the warmth Punjabis exude.

Plate to Palate!

The menu hosts a variety of Stuffed Amritsari Tandoori Kulchas served with Chole, accompanied by a zesty hari chutney as well as diced pyaaz and we sure wouldn’t have it any other way! The stuffed tandoori kulchas come in different variants like Cheese Garlic Kulcha, Seetimaar Kulcha, Gobi Wala Kulcha, Aloo Cheese Kulcha, Paneer Kulcha, Jain Kulcha amidst other choices. Slake your thirst with their velvety Punjabi Lassi or opt for the Masala Soda to wash down all the grease!

After a filling meal, you can indulge your sweet-tooth in their decadent dessert section. We loved the Gud Ki Jalebi with Rabdi and also, the delicious Amritsari Falooda Kulfi with Rabdi, sealed the meal for us!

What we’re saying is-

Whenever you’re here or around, you must drop by Punjab da Chulah for a meal because this eatery is bringing the real pinda da swad right here in Mumbai! Perfect for any kinda mood, be it a hogging session with your yaars or a fam jam, Punjab da Chulah will warm up your insides with its offerings.
