Lucknow's SGPGIMS conducts highest COVID-19 tests in a single day, across India

Lucknow's testing lab worked round the clock to set the standard of RT-PCR COVID testing in the country.

The Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) in Lucknow claims to have conducted the highest number of RT-PCR tests for Covid-19 in a single day, in the whole country. The SGPGIMS has been conducting tests to check the infection of coronavirus since its outbreak in March. So far, the institute has conducted an aggregate total of 6 lakh tests in Lucknow.

A team of 70 members made it possible to conduct as many as 7,748 tests, that happens to be the highest number of RT-PCR COVID test conducted in a single day, across the whole country!

In an attempt to break the chain of COVID-19 transmission due to increased inter-state movement, Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) has created new, special zones to test all domestic passengers from Delhi, Goa, Rajasthan and Gujarat for the coronavirus infection.
