3 Kanpur-based enterprises among 6 from UP to receive recognition at Tally MSME Awards

Bringing fame to Kanpur are the city's 3 MSMEs, that have been awarded under the various categories at Tally MSME Awards 2021. Other winners from Uttar Pradesh are from Dhanauri, Deoria and Varanasi, which takes the total tally of enterprises from the state that have been recognised, to 6.

Initiated by Tally Solutions, this award aims at recognising and celebrating the diversity and impact of micro, small and medium enterprises through their best practices at the grassroots. Read on to know more about this award and the awardees!

About awardees from Kanpur

Partners of Mercury Drycleaners- Sudhir Batra and Deepak Khattar have been awarded in the Business Veteran category. Established in 1959, this enterprise from Kanpur has been a renowned name in the dry cleaning and laundry space. In the last 45 years, they have grown 100x as they have more than 10 outlets.

Ajay Shanker Dixit, who hails from Kanpur and is the owner of Brij Caterers, put his employees and infrastructure to good use by providing cooked food and packed grocery items to daily wage earners and labourers. 155 such families have been adopted for 3 months and 10 among these have been earmarked to receive grocery supplies for 2 years. This is why he was awarded under the Social Patron category.

Efforts of Prerna Verma of Creative India have been recognised among the WonderWomen in MSMEs. She founded her enterprise in 2004 as a leather cord trading unit. However, over the years, this business has expanded and ventured in exports, manufacturing of cotton cords, purses, bags and leather goods.

Other enterprises from the state that have made a mark by winning the Business Veteran honour at Tally MSME 2021 include the Managing Director of Norex Flavours Private Limited (Dhanaura) and Directors of Ravi Pankha India Private Limited (Varanasi). Further, Deoria-based Agricare's Proprietor has been awarded in the Digital Transformation category.

Maharashtra govt grants ₹11,500 crore flood relief aid for repairs & long-term rehabilitation

The state of Maharashtra has promised to provide ₹10,000 to all families affected in the recent flood disaster

The Maharashtra government on Tuesday approved and announced a ₹11,500 crore flood relief package to those affected by the calamity brought in by the recent floods here. The much-anticipated aid will be utilised for emergency relief, repairs and long-term rehabilitation measures for the victims of the disaster. As many as 9 districts were knee-deep in trouble last month, due to extreme rainwater activity in the state.

Maharashtra Unlock: BMC issues new relaxations for Mumbai amid lockdown

Mumbai suburban 'local' trains will not resume operations for the general public.

The Maharashtra government on Monday decided to continue with Level-3 COVID curbs in 14 out of the 36 districts here, including state capital Mumbai. While partial relaxations are awarded to the other 22 cities, the high caseload and emergence of fresh infections in the listed regions have discouraged the administration from withdrawing the restrictions in these regions.

Parallelly, the state has authorised the local civic body to decide the level of curbs in 3 of these 14 districts, namely Mumbai, Mumbai suburban and Thane. As such, the BMC has permitted all shops (except malls) to open here till 10 PM. The local trains will, however, remain shut for all passengers.

Remodelled Gangapur City Yard to facilitate high-speed run of trains on the Delhi-Mumbai route

Earlier, trains running on the Mumbai-Delhi route were subjected to Permanent Speed Restrictions of 70 kmph at the 40 year old yard.

The services of Indian Railways along the Delhi-Mumbai route will now race through a speed of 130 kmph, facilitating rapid travel between the two cities. This development has been made possible with the completion of the Ganagapur City Yard remodeling project, last month. The project reached its last leg in July.

As per reports, the body will work for the addition and up-gradation of facilities in the park, in a bid to bring back its lost glory.
