1. There are 8 other cities which share the same name- ‘Lucknow’
Cities in Scotland, Australia, Canada and USA share the name of our city. I hope, they are as good as our city of Nawabs.
2. From Lucknow to Lahore cultural event
It is one such event organised by Uttar Pradesh Tourism, which tries to connect the ‘tehzeeb’ of Lucknow and Lahore. We are peace loving people and this event tries to bring the two nations closer.
3. Second most happy city in India
Recently a survey conducted by IMRB International and LG Corporation which ranked Chandigarh as the happiest city to live in, ranked Lucknow as the second happiest in the country.
4. Lucknow is North India’s first CCTV city
We are not saying it! The government claims that 9000 security cameras are installed in Lucknow, which makes it the first CCTV city in North India. Delhi is not even close ?
5. Martinian military legend
La Martiniere College, Lucknow students fought in 1857 mutiny. For this the British government awarded ‘Royal Battle Honours’ to La Martiniere Boys’ College Lucknow.

This festival is only celebrated in Lucknow. It was started to provide food to the poor and is the biggest example of cross-religious beliefs of people of Lucknow.
9. Bada Imambara
It is one of the largest labyrinths in India. It also houses Asia’s largest pillar-less hall, which stands without any support from iron beams.
