On Wednesday, the maximum temperature dropped slightly to 38.2°C, and for Thursday, the IMD predicts a further dip, with the maximum expected to hover around 37°C and the minimum around 25°C. However, while this provides temporary relief, temperatures are expected to climb back to 41°C by the end of the month.
IMD predicts that the mercury may reach back to 41°C by the end of the month
For Ahmedabad, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a slight dip in both maximum and minimum temperatures over the next three days, with the mercury expected to drop by 2-3°C. However, this relief may be short-lived, as temperatures are likely to rise again thereafter and may reach to 41°C by the end of the month.
Dry conditions and clear skies have intensified the heat, trapping warmth in the lower atmosphere and preventing any significant cooling at night.
Residents are advised to take precautions against the heat by staying hydrated, avoiding direct sun exposure during peak hours, and wearing light, breathable clothing. As temperature fluctuations continue, Ahmedabad remains on high alert for another round of sweltering days ahead.
