Commuters travelling between Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar will soon benefit from direct metro connectivity to the Sachivalaya, as Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) has begun trial runs on this extended route. Part of Phase 2 of the Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project, the extension features two corridors: Motera Stadium to Mahatma Mandir and GNLU to GIFT City.

Yellow Line to reach Sachivalaya soon

The Motera-Mahatma Mandir corridor, also called the Yellow Line, consists of 21 stations. Currently, seven stations from Motera Stadium to Sector 1 in Gandhinagar are operational. Following the successful completion of trial runs, the remaining seven stations on the Yellow Line are expected to open within three months.

These stations include:

  • Koteshwar Road

  • Vishwakarma College

  • Tapovan Circle

  • Narmada Canal

  • Koba Circle

  • Sector 10-A

  • Sachivalaya

Commuters travelling to Sachivalay to get direct metro connectivity

Previously, passengers travelling to Sachivalaya had to disembark at Sector 1 station and rely on other transport options. With the metro now set to extend directly to Sachivalaya, this last-mile hurdle will be eliminated.

This extension is expected to enhance connectivity for government employees, daily commuters, and visitors to Gandhinagar, reducing traffic congestion and improving travel efficiency.
