Municipality to implement adaptive traffic signaling system

The Ahmedabad Municipality has announced plans to install an adaptive traffic signaling system at the city's traffic signals. This innovative system will adjust red and green lights based on real-time vehicle flow. If a lane has minimal traffic, the green signal duration will be reduced. Conversely, if a green signal is active with no vehicles present, it will automatically switch to red to prioritize busier lanes.

AMC has issued a tender to appoint an agency for the installation. Officials stated that high-accident areas will be surveyed for early implementation.

Installation of night-vision CCTV cameras in the city

High-quality night-vision CCTV cameras will be installed across the city to enhance security and protect citizens, especially women, senior citizens, and children. This initiative is part of the Gujarat Public Security Act.

In the first phase, all commercial and residential complexes are required to install these cameras, with full implementation expected by July 7, the date of the Jagannath Rath Yatra.
