Heat Action Plan implemented by AMC

AMC has activated its heat action plan in anticipation of rising temperatures. Urban health centers are extending their operating hours until 7 pm to accommodate increased health emergencies. Additionally, buttermilk distribution initiatives are underway in major gardens and various locations through collaboration with different organizations.

To mitigate heat exposure, construction activities will pause work from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

Development plans for Lothal, world's oldest dockyard

Lothal, renowned as the world’s oldest dockyard and a significant relic of the ancient Indus Valley Civilization, is poised for development. Seven surrounding villages, located 75 km from Ahmedabad, will also be integrated into the development.

The comprehensive development plan for Lothal includes provisions for residential, commercial, industrial, and public land use. Notably, plans are underway for the construction of the National Maritime Heritage Complex Museum, a Maritime Heritage-based Theme Park, and a Maritime Research Institute.

RTO driving test track operational for 12 hours to complete pending work

Due to the 12-day hiatus of the driving test track in March, the RTO office in Ahmedabad faced a backlog of over 3500 applicants unable to take their driving tests. Presently, approximately 450 driving tests are being conducted daily, thanks to additional shifts implemented by officers.

Preparation for the world's second jumbo plane at SVPI Airport

Following the Airbus A-380, the Ahmedabad airport is set to welcome the Boeing 777-900 series aircraft, marking the arrival of the world's second jumbo passenger aircraft at the airport. Emirates Airline plans to utilize this aircraft for flights from Ahmedabad to Dubai in the near future.

Boeing Company conducted inspections at the Ahmedabad airport in preparation for the arrival of the jumbo aircraft.

New rail cargo route launched from Ahmedabad to Mundra

A new rail freight service linking Sachana, Ahmedabad Inland Container Depot (ICD), to Mundra, has been launched. Operating on Tuesdays and Fridays, the service aims to streamline exports and imports for businesses in Ahmedabad and neighboring regions.
