Tree Census to be initiated by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation

For the first time, AMC is set to conduct a comprehensive tree census across all 48 ward areas of the city, encompassing SG Highway and Sardar Patel Ring Road, using the Global Positioning System (GPS) and GIS methodology.

This effort aims to gather data on tree species, density, and locations, aiding in climate change initiatives and the preservation of rare and old trees of Ahmedabad.

RTO server issues disrupt driving tests

Statewide, including Ahmedabad, the Regional Transport Office (RTO) server downtime persists, causing inconvenience for individuals scheduled for driving tests. Over the last two to three months, the RTO server has experienced intermittent outages, with a recent three-day disruption affecting approximately two thousand individuals.

Concerned petitioners highlight the lack of communication regarding the server's restoration timeline, leading to frustration among applicants who are compelled to reschedule their appointments. RTO officials suggest that it may take an additional two to three days to restore server functionality.

Weather Forecast: Temp likely to reach 37°C today

Ahmedabad city is experiencing temperatures exceeding 36 degrees Celsius, with forecasts indicating a further rise of one to two degrees over the next five days.

Additionally, the weather department predicts temperatures nearing 40 degrees Celsius in certain parts of the state by the end of March. Amdavadis are advised to brace for a heatwave.

Traffic Update: Closure of stretch from Jashoda Nagar Cross Road to Vinzol Cross Road

A significant number of pilgrims embark on foot to visit the Dakor temple for the Phagani Poonam Fair. They traverse the route from Jashoda Nagar to Lalgebi Circle.

In order to prioritize the safety and convenience of pedestrians, the one-way road from Jashoda Nagar Cross Road to Vinzol Cross Road will be completely closed to all vehicular traffic from Tuesday until March 26.
