Gandhi Ashram Development Project

AMC is embarking on the Rs 1,200 crore Gandhi Ashram Development project, expanding the Ashram's current 5-acre area to an expansive 55-acre space. As a part of this project, a section of the road outside the Gandhi Ashram will be permanently closed starting from October 10.

The affected stretch runs from Cargo Motors near Vadaj Circle to the Collector's office near Subhash Bridge. The new Ashram entrance will be accessible from Morarji Ghat near the Collector's office.

Plasticizers detected in Ahmedabad's air

A recent study, conducted by Gujarat's Department of Climate Change and Charotar Vidya Mandal University, has uncovered the presence of plasticizers in Ahmedabad's air. These minuscule particles, used as additives to soften plastics, can enter our lungs and bloodstream, raising concerns about air quality and health.

ISRO-SAC Ahmedabad's contribution to India's Reusable Launch Vehicle

The Indian Space Research Organisation's Space Applications Centre (ISRO-SAC) in Ahmedabad played a crucial role in developing two key instruments and technologies for India's reusable launch vehicle, the RLV technology demonstrator (RLV-TD). These advancements enabled the RLV-TD to achieve autonomous landing at the Aeronautical Test Range (ATR) in Chitradurga, Karnataka, on April 2.

These technologies will be integrated into India's forthcoming two-stage orbital launch vehicle, which will be 1.6 times larger than the RLV-TD.

Upcoming high-speed train linking Ahmedabad and Sanand

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced, on September 23, that a high-speed train connecting Ahmedabad to Sanand will commence operations within the next six months. Furthermore, Vande Bharat Express trains will include a stop at Sanand, significantly improving connectivity options on various routes.

Rise in cases of fever and cold in Ahmedabad

Ongoing spells of rain in Ahmedabad have led to a surge in cases of fever and cold. Medical experts advise that while concerns about dengue persist, a noticeable increase in cases of viral fever has inundated city hospitals and outpatient departments (OPDs). Incidents of vomiting and diarrhea have also been reported.
