Road resurfacing gears up ahead of Diwali festival

As the festival of Diwali draws near, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has initiated the resurfacing of damaged city roads. In anticipation of the festival season, authorities are working diligently to repair road stretches that have suffered due to the recent monsoon season.

'Run for Unity' to celebrate National Unity Day

To commemorate National Unity Day, the state government organized a 'Run for Unity' event in Ahmedabad and several other cities. The run began at 6:45 AM from the Sabarmati riverfront event center, covering a distance of 4.2 km. Approximately 7000 Amdavadis were expected to participate in this event.

Increased flight connectivity for upcoming festivals and travel season

Ahmedabad Airport has announced a significant increase in its flight schedule for the winter season. In response to the upcoming festival, tourist, and NRI season, the airport will offer 39 additional domestic and 15 international flights. Direct flights to destinations like Diu, Agra, Jaisalmer, and Indore are set to commence from this Sunday.

AMC takes action against stray cattle menace

The AMC is taking decisive action to address the issue of stray cattle roaming the city streets, which has led to accidents. Authorities are on a mission to identify Gauchar lands and remove encroachments, providing cattle owners with alternative spaces to prevent cattle from wandering freely on the roads.

Development project at World Heritage Site Dholavira

Dholavira, a World Heritage Site, is set to undergo development to enhance tourism. The Gujarat Tourism Department has allocated a budget of Rs 66 crore for the construction of comfortable accommodations, entertainment options, and transportation facilities. The project also includes the creation of an amphitheater, a tent city, a light-laser show, a flamingo park, and a cultural village.

Space observatory in Bapunagar to promote space science

A space observatory has been established on the roof of the White House in the Bapunagar area of Ahmedabad. This initiative is led by a private organization, a startup associated with Gujarat Technological University. The purpose of this space observatory is to stimulate children's interest in space science and raise public awareness about the wonders of the cosmos.
