Ahmedabad real estate shifts to 'RERA Area' concept, property rates double

Developers in Ahmedabad have traditionally sold residential and commercial properties based on the built-up area. However, a recent shift to the 'Rera Area' concept, which includes the carpet area along with utility and lobby spaces, has led to a doubling of property rates in the city.

Acquiring property in Ahmedabad has now become as expensive as in India's major metropolitan and Tier-1 cities, with rates ranging between Rs 7000 and Rs 25,000 per square foot.
