Digital payment trial launched at City Railway Station

In line with the Digital India initiative, online payments are now accessible across various platforms, including the railways. The Ahmedabad Division of Western Railway has introduced a trial of QR code digital payment facilities at Ahmedabad and Gandhidham railway stations.

Passengers can utilize this facility at designated counters, ensuring convenient and efficient transactions. This initiative aims to streamline ticketing processes and enhance the overall passenger experience.

Weather Update: Cloudy skies expected, chance of rain in North Gujarat

Scientists at the Meteorological Department forecast consistent dry weather across the state for the next five days. Cloudy conditions are anticipated in Ahmedabad and surrounding districts for the next 48 hours.

While these clouds are unlikely to bring rain, scattered light showers may occur in some districts of North Gujarat on April 10 and 11.

Heat stroke alert in Ahmedabad: Rise in cases reported, precautions advised

As temperatures surge in Ahmedabad, Sola Civil Hospital reports a rise in heat stroke cases since the beginning of April. With 10 to 15 cases per day over the last 4-5 days, primarily affecting individuals aged 40-45 years, the situation is concerning.

Symptoms include headaches, dizziness, body rashes, spasms, and unconsciousness, indicating heat stroke. Public is advised to maintain hydration, especially those outdoors during peak sunlight hours, to prevent heat-related health concerns.

A'bad-Delhi Swarna Jayanti Rajdhani Express will now depart from Sabarmati Station 

Amid ongoing renovations, Ahmedabad Railway Station is set to be redeveloped into a world-class transportation hub. Several train terminals have been relocated to Gandhinagar or Sabarmati stations to enhance operational efficiency and alleviate passenger congestion.

Effective April 7, 2024, the Ahmedabad- Delhi Swarna Jayanti Rajdhani Express will now depart from and return to Sabarmati station.
