Rise in complaints regarding AMTS bus services

As incidents of accidents involving AMTS buses operated by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation surge, citizens voice concerns over the quality of service. Over the past three years, citizens have lodged 10,970 complaints with the Ahmedabad Municipal Transport regarding various issues including buses not stopping at designated bus stands, speeding, misconduct by drivers and conductors, and disregarding traffic signals.

These complaints highlight shortcomings in the proper management of AMTS buses.

Suspension of boating and water activities at Sabarmati and Kankaria

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) issued an order on Wednesday, suspending boating and water activities, including the river cruise at Sabarmati and Kankaria Lake. This decision follows a notification from the state home department urging civic bodies to cease sports and leisure activities over water bodies.

Timings of all primary schools in the state adjusted to 7 am to 11 am 

As temperatures soar, the Deputy Director of the Primary Department has directed all District Education Officers and Primary District Education Officers to adjust the timings of all primary schools in the state from 7 am to 11 am. This adjustment aims to protect schoolchildren from heatwaves.

Western Railway introduces additional Special train between Sabarmati and Patna

Western Railway has introduced one more special train between Sabarmati and Patna. Train No. 09477 Sabarmati-Patna Special will commence its journey from Sabarmati on Thursday, 25 April 2024, at 23:30 hrs, arriving at Patna at 08:30 hrs on the third day. Similarly, Train No. 09478 Patna-Sabarmati Special will depart from Patna at 11:30 hrs on Saturday, April 27, 2024, reaching Sabarmati at 19:40 hrs the next day.

Booking commences on April 25, 2024, at Passenger Reservation Centers and the IRCTC website.
