Foundation laid for 6-lane Nikol-Sarkhej elevated corridor and 8-lane bridge replacing Subhash Bridge

During a virtual event on Monday, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for two significant infrastructure projects in Ahmedabad. The first is a six-lane elevated corridor connecting Nikol to Sarkhej, enhancing connectivity to Juhapura and Sarkhej. The second project involves an eight-lane bridge set to replace the existing Shashtri bridge near Vishala.

The combined cost of these projects is Rs 1295 crore. The aim is to alleviate traffic congestion and improve transportation at these critical points.

AMTS bus stops to feature LED displays for real-time information

In a bid to enhance passenger experience, AMTS (Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Service) bus stops will soon be equipped with LED displays. Similar to the BRTS system, these displays will show the arrival time of buses at respective stands, providing commuters with accurate and real-time information.

Proposals have been invited from various companies, and the Municipal Transport Service will decide on the suitable proposal after careful consideration in the transport committee.

City Beauty Competition winners: Victoria Garden tops green space category, Riverfront secures best waterfront title

A city beauty competition was organized at the Gandhinagar-based Gujarat Pollution Control Board, where Victoria Garden in Ahmedabad secured the first position in the green space category. The flower park on the Sabarmati riverfront claimed the third spot.

Dhal ni Pol secured the second position in the heritage category, while the Sabarmati riverfront was chosen as the first in the waterfront category.

AMC introduces 3 more AC Double Decker buses on new routes

Tomorrow, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) is set to launch three additional AC double-decker buses connecting the North and South sides of the city. The new routes include Lal Darwaja to Shilaj, Sarangpur to Singarwa Patiya, and Naroda to Lambha Cross Road.

These buses, accommodating up to 65 passengers, feature 29 seats on the lower deck and 36 on the upper deck. The AMC Chairman also announced plans for the launch of two more buses in the near future.

Makeover for 3.6 km Stretch from Chandkheda Visat Circle to Zundal Circle

The 3.6 km stretch from Chandkheda Visat Circle to Zundal Circle is set for a makeover. Dubbed the 'Street of the People,' this project, costing Rs 61 crore, is the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation's most expensive road makeover initiative to date.

The renovated stretch will connect the Sardar Patel Olympic Sports Enclave near Motera to other sports infrastructure on the Bhat-Koteshwar stretch.
