Construction of mountain tunnel underway in Mumbai-Ahmedabad Rail Corridor
Significant progress has been made in the construction of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor, with work on the only mountain tunnel in the C-4 package now underway. This tunnel, measuring 350 meters in length and 10.25 meters in height, is located approximately 1 kilometer from Zaroli village in Umbergaon taluka, Valsad district.
The Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) corridor will feature a total of seven mountain tunnels, constructed using the advanced New Austrian Tunnelling Method (NATM).
Gujarat’s “Adopt a College” initiative
Government colleges in semi-urban and rural areas of Gujarat are in dire need of modernization and improved infrastructure. To address this, the Gujarat Department of Technical Education is launching the “Adopt a College” initiative. Under this program, education officials will collaborate with private architecture colleges to assess and redesign the civil infrastructure of government engineering colleges, encompassing both degree and diploma programs.
