In an effort to transform Ahmedabad into a plastic-free city, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) is embarking on a campaign to distribute cloth bags to 14 lakh households across the city. Citizens are being encouraged to replace their conventional plastic bags with these eco-friendly alternatives.

Dispelling rumors that Kalupur railway station, the main railway hub of Ahmedabad, would be temporarily closed for a year, local authorities have clarified that there are no immediate plans for its closure. The ongoing redevelopment project, which may necessitate a temporary closure in the future, is still in the tender stage and thus, the station's operation will continue as usual for the time being.

Significant progress has been made in the construction of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor, with work on the only mountain tunnel in the C-4 package now underway. This tunnel, measuring 350 meters in length and 10.25 meters in height, is located approximately 1 kilometer from Zaroli village in Umbergaon taluka, Valsad district.

The Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) corridor will feature a total of seven mountain tunnels, constructed using the advanced New Austrian Tunnelling Method (NATM).

Government colleges in semi-urban and rural areas of Gujarat are in dire need of modernization and improved infrastructure. To address this, the Gujarat Department of Technical Education is launching the "Adopt a College" initiative. Under this program, education officials will collaborate with private architecture colleges to assess and redesign the civil infrastructure of government engineering colleges, encompassing both degree and diploma programs.

This partnership will offer architecture students valuable internship opportunities and projects under the guidance of experienced faculty members, benefiting both parties involved.
