On Monday, Ahmedabad's maximum temperature soared to 36.1°C, up from 35°C the previous day, marking the fourth time in 10 years that August temperatures have reached this high. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), this was 3.5°C above the normal for this time of year.
The rise in temperature, along with high humidity levels due to moisture from South Gujarat, has contributed to the heat. Clear skies with reduced cloud cover have further intensified the sun's rays, adding to the discomfort.
