Ahmedabad plane crash | Western Railway deploys two special trains to Mumbai & Delhi

In response to the tragic Air India flight crash in Ahmedabad, Western Railways has announced special trains to assist passengers and families. Two special trains, Ahmedabad–Delhi (09497/09498) and Ahmedabad–Mumbai (09494/09493), began operations in both directions from June 12. These AC trains will stop at key junctions including Jaipur, Surat, and Vadodara.

The Railway Protection Force’s disaster response team, along with a hospital unit of six doctors, 20 staffers, and seven ambulances, has been deployed for rescue efforts at the crash site.

Bookings for the special trains are open on Tatkal basis via IRCTC and reservation counters. Authorities urge affected families and travellers to check schedules at www.enquiry.indianrail.gov.in.

The crash involved a London-bound Air India flight carrying 242 people, which went down minutes after take off, crashing into a residential area and prompting large-scale emergency response.
