If you're eager to delve into the life of the 'Iron Man of India' or explore a Mughal palace transformed into a museum, a visit to the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Museum is in order.

Inside, you'll encounter a diverse collection of artifacts which once belonged to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The exhibition is enriched with a captivating display of images portraying various stages of his life.

To enhance the visitor experience, the museum features two multimedia halls that host interactive exhibits. These exhibits employ experiential techniques to shed light on different aspects of Sardar Vallabhbhai's life and his significant contributions.

A stroll through the life and work of Patel

Experience a 3D sound, light, and laser show, showcasing the key moments of Indian independence. Marvel at a diverse collection of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's artifacts and immersive displays, with information provided in Hindi, Gujarati, and English.

Inside you'll discover Patel’s portraits capturing the essence of the freedom struggle, accompanied by biographical descriptions and quotes from his admirers and friends. The exhibit features carefully preserved relics of Patel’s life, showcasing his personal possessions and thought-provoking political cartoons.

The display also delves into Sardar Patel’s collaboration with Mahatma Gandhi, offering glimpses of his formative years, educational journey, and his distinguished legal and political career. The exhibition presents an array of personal effects, including his iconic Khadi kurta, dhoti, jacket, shoes, and juxtaposes them with European-style attire.

Other attractions 

While the exhibits extend beyond a singular focus on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, delving into the broader narrative of India's struggle for independence during his era, they also encompass glimpses into life during the Vedic period, the intricacies of the Mughal era, the subjugation of Indians by the British, and the relentless pursuit of freedom culminating in the Indian independence movement.

A particularly captivating display in the museum features the Indian national flag, designed by the Indian National Congress in 1930. Adorning the walls are portraits of Sardar Patel, his family, and comrades from the days of the Indian Independence Movement.

Timing:  9:30 AM to 5:00 PM every day of the week, except Mondays.
