Maha Kumbh Mela 2025: GSRTC launches new daily AC Volvo bus service from Ahmedabad to Prayagraj
Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC), in collaboration with Gujarat Tourism, is launching a daily AC Volvo bus service from Ahmedabad to the Maha Kumbh Mela at Prayagraj, offering a convenient travel option for pilgrims from Gujarat.
The service will commence on the 27th of January, with online bookings will be available from the 25th of January on the GSRTC website. The service will be flagged off by the Gujarat Chief Minister with the first bus of pilgrims from Gandhinagar.
Packages priced at ₹8,100, for overnight stay at Shivpuri
The buses will depart daily from the Ranip bus depot in Ahmedabad, providing a specially designed package for pilgrims. The three-night, four-day package is priced at ₹8,100, which includes an overnight stay at Shivpuri in Madhya Pradesh due to the long journey. Pilgrims will also be accommodated in dormitories at the Kumbh Mela site. Please note that meals are not included in the package.
The 1,400 km (around 21-hour) journey will require pilgrims to be prepared for extensive walking at the Kumbh Mela site, as the buses will park some distance away from the main bathing area.
This initiative aims to make the pilgrimage more accessible and comfortable for devotees, allowing them to partake in the experience of the Maha Kumbh Mela with ease. For more information and to book the service, pilgrims can visit the GSRTC website starting the 25th of January.
