Online registration for pet dogs begins in Ahmedabad | 107 dogs licensed on the first day!
Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has started the online registration process for pet dogs in the city on the 1st of January on its website. By the evening of the first day, 71 pet owners registered a total of 107 dogs, marking a strong start to the initiative.
The AMC made it mandatory for owners to submit a rabies vaccination certificate along with other details. To streamline the process further, AMC will soon publish a list of licensed veterinary practitioners on its website, allowing pet owners to easily access vaccination services. Additionally, anti-rabies vaccines will be available at the AMC’s dog sterilisation centres. The second phase of the registration will involve the implementation of RFID tagging and licensing for pets.
Application for dog license
As part of the online registration, owners are required to upload several documents, including their Aadhaar card, electricity bill, property tax bill, PAN card, as well as the dog’s photo, breed, gender, age, and even a photo of the dog’s living area. The registration fee is Rs 200 per dog. With a 90-day window to complete the process, Ahmedabad is set to become the first city in Gujarat to fully digitise dog registrations.
