And the best part? You don’t need to spend a fortune to enjoy these classic dishes! Whether you’re craving something buttery, crispy, or spicy, here’s a list of Ahmedabad’s most loved eats, all under ₹200!

Ghughra Sandwich

A signature fusion dish of Ahmedabad, the Ghughra Sandwich is a crispy, golden-brown delight that oozes cheesy goodness. Stuffed with spicy green chutney, finely chopped onions, green chilies, and a mix of aromatic spices, it’s a flavour bomb that perfectly blends crunch with creaminess.

The slight sweetness of the bread balances the spice, making it a city favourite, especially among students and late-night foodies!

Gotala Dosa

A true-blue Manek Chowk classic, Gotala Dosa is Ahmedabad’s answer to extreme indulgence. This buttery, cheesy creation is loaded with spicy mashed potato filling, slathered with melted cheese, and served with chutneys that amplify its flavour.

The dosa, crisp at the edges and soft in the middle, soaks up all the goodness, making it a messy yet irresistible street food experience that reflects Ahmedabad’s love for over-the-top, satisfying flavours.

Jalebi & Fafda

No Sunday morning in Ahmedabad is complete without the iconic Jalebi-Fafda combo. The crunch of the fafda, paired with the tang of raw papaya chutney, offers a savoury contrast to the hot, syrupy jalebi that melts in your mouth.

Whether it’s a festival morning or just another weekend, this breakfast classic is an Amdavadi ritual!

Maska Bun & Chai

A trip down the old streets of Ahmedabad often leads to the comforting sight of a tea stall serving hot chai with buttery buns. Soft, freshly baked buns generously slathered with creamy butter and dipped into kadak chai, it’s a simple yet soul-satisfying snack, perfect for late-night conversations or early morning nostalgia!

Dabeli

Originally from Kutch but wholeheartedly embraced by Ahmedabad, Dabeli is a spicy, tangy, and slightly sweet street food favourite. The potato mixture, flavoured with a special Dabeli masala, is tucked into a pav, garnished with crunchy sev, juicy pomegranate seeds, and a medley of chutneys. Lightly toasted on a pan, it offers a crispy exterior that gives way to a burst of comfy flavours!

Dal Vada

Although an ideal monsoon snack, dal vada is available throughout the year. Ask any Amdavadi what their go-to snack is, and the answer will most likely be a piping hot plate of these vadas. These golden, crunchy fritters made from spiced lentils are deep-fried to perfection.

Best enjoyed with a handful of fried green chilies and tangy chutney, the first bite is always a burst of warmth. Pair it with a steaming cup of chai, and you’ve got yourself the ultimate comfort food.

You can try these at Ambika Dal Vada (₹40) or Raipur Bhajiya House (₹50).
