For many Amdavadis, a leisurely Sunday morning begins with a plate of Gujarati nashta, and for countless locals, that means a visit to Lijjat Khaman! The spot was established in 1995 by Manharlal Bhuptani and his three sons, Atulbhai, Bhaveshbhai, and Tejasbhai. This eatery has grown into a household name for its fresh, flavourful, and affordable local snacks.

Try the best of Gujarati nashta and farsan!

What sets Lijjat Khaman apart is its consistency. Its Sev Khamni, known for its soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture, remains a crowd favourite. The Cheese Corn Rolls and Khaman are also widely popular, attracting long queues, especially on weekends and holidays. The accompanying chutney, with its balanced blend of spice and tang, is equally delicious. The menu covers a broad range of Gujarati farsan, including Fulvadi, Bhajiya, Idada, Patra, Navtad Samosa, and Chinese Samosa.

Lijjat Khaman also serves Methi Thepla and Jalebi made in pure ghee, a combination often enjoyed as a classic breakfast. For those observing fasts, the shop often offers Farali dishes like Farali Patra and Bafvada, making it an inclusive choice for a variety of dietary preferences

Order through its online takeaway system to skip the queue!

Over the years, Lijjat Khaman has adapted changing times, introducing an online takeaway system that allows customers to place orders, make payments, and receive updates via WhatsApp, so they can skip the queue and pick up their order once notified.

So, whether it’s the nostalgia of a Sunday breakfast run or the familiarity of its freshly made snacks, the place continues to be an integral part of Ahmedabad’s street food culture!
