Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Airport in Ahmedabad is hosting Aviation Security Culture Week from July 31 to August 5.

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad is has kicked off the country's first-ever Aviation Security Culture Week, organized by India's aviation security regulator, the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS). From July 31 to August 5, this unique event aims to foster a strong security culture in the aviation industry with the theme "See it, Say it, Secure it."

As part of this national initiative, all stakeholders in Indian aviation will actively participate, working together towards enhancing security consciousness. The main goal is to create a safer flying experience for everyone, from airport staff to passengers.

Security education in action

During this, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Airport authorities will engage with passengers, offering valuable information about aviation security measures. Passengers will be educated about security-related operations, such as ID card checks, hand metal detector screenings, and baggage X-ray procedures, which are all essential steps before boarding a flight. Additionally, they will be informed about how to interact with airline and other agency personnel.

Adding a fun twist to the event, Terminal 2 will host an engaging quiz contest, featuring various security-related questions. Passengers and airport staff can participate, with exciting prizes awaiting those who answer the most questions correctly.

Zulfiqar Hasan, DG, BCAS, expressed that the primary objective of the security culture week is to instill a heightened sense of security awareness among all members of the aviation community, including passengers. By collectively embracing the mantra of "See it, Say it, Secure it," the aviation industry aims to strengthen security measures and ensure the utmost safety during air travel.
