The 20th Inter Institutional Sports Meet, Sangathan at Amity University, Lucknow campus was officially declared open on September 20th.

The annual mega sporting fest was formally inaugurated in the presence of Chief Guest – Mr Indra Mani Tripathi, Municipal Commissioner; Guest of Honour, Mr RP Singh, Sports Director UP; Advisor to Chairman Maj Gen KK Ohri AVSM (Retd), Officiating Pro VC Prof (Dr) Sunil Dhaneshwar, Assistant Pro VC and Director Amity School of Engineering and technology, Wing Cdr ( Retd ) Dr Anil Kumar Tiwari, Dean Student Welfare, Prof (Dr) Manju Agarwal, Director Projects Mr Naresh Chandra, HOIs, staff, faculty and students.

Initiating the proceedings - a Mashaal was carried by students and sports captains across the stadium. The Mashaal was lit in the stadium by the dignitaries.

Dean Student Welfare Prof (Dr) Manju Agarwal administered the Sangathan oath and a welcome address was given by Offg Pro VC, Prof ( Dr ) Sunil Dhaneshwar.

The momentous event also saw felicitation of six athletes – international athlete, Mr Gulab Singh, National athlete, Mr. Rahul Sharma, National long jump gold medallist and Silver medallist in International Long Jump, Mr. Rishabh Risheshwar, International Athlete, Ms. Suman, Asiad 2018 silver medallist in 3000 mts Ms Sudha Singh and Ms. Kamlesh, COACH of Rahul, Rishabh and Sudha Singh.

Decoding Amity University’s Sangathan

Sangathan as a sports event aims to inculcate values related to sports like team spirit, camaraderie, competitive spirit, dedication, hard work among other qualities. The month long sports fest across campuses of Amity University celebrates the life and works of Founder President Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan.

Sangathan that happens simultaneously in different campuses brings together the sporting talent from across 150 Amity institutions, 17 schools and those from abroad to pay respect to Amity’s Founder President. It culminates on October 24 at Amity Noida campus on the birthday of the founder President. Sangathan 2018 will be witness to a gamut of sporting events cutting across around 35 sporting disciplines including Hockey, Cricket, Football, Tennis, Squash amongst others. The faculty and staff members also participate in various sports events.

Lucknow University students demand a reduction in exam fees through a Twitter campaign!

Labeled 'No exam, no fee', the drive by the distressed pupils of the institute asks for a reduction in the exam fees and course fees.

Amid the ongoing circumstances of the pandemic, Lucknow University had recently announced offline examinations for last year and end-semester students. Expressing discontent over the fees levied by the varsity, a group of students have initiated a social media campaign on the microblogging site Twitter. Labeled 'No exam, no fee', the drive by the distressed pupils of the institute asks for a reduction in the exam fees and course fees, given the tumultuous situation of the present day.

As per the schedule released by the university, examinations for last year's students shall commence from August 10 and the examinees are asked to fill forms by July 10.

Lucknow's Padmashree Mohd. Shahid Stadium to be developed as a centre of excellence for hockey

This step will help to nurture local talent and develop an aptitude for sports in the state, which has a rich history in the game of hockey.

A residential centre of excellence in hockey will soon be established in Lucknow, in a bid to promote the national sport across Uttar Pradesh. Centred at the Padma Shri Mohd Shahid Synthetic Stadium, this advanced academy will be the first of its kind in the state. Lucknow University announces MCQ-format offline exams for final year students

Pupils of other years enrolled in degree and diploma courses will be promoted based on internal marks.

Lucknow University has announced that last-year/end-semester students of all undergraduate and postgraduate programs will have to sit for offline examinations in the upcoming days. As per reports, these assessments will have multiple-choice questions to be solved within a stipulated period of time. Further, pupils of other years enrolled in degree and diploma courses will be promoted based on internal marks, according to the latest decision by the varsity administration.

Universities in UP directed to send degrees to students by post

The decision ensures that students receive their degrees on time.

The pandemic has affected the education system in a huge way. Even though online classes have replaced physical classes, staying at home for such a long duration has taken away a lot of opportunities from students of schools and colleges alike. In such times, the authorities are trying their best to provide assistance and tackle all the hurdles. And now, in an attempt to timely award degrees to college students, new instructions have been given to universities across UP.

Chancellor of state universities & UP Governor, Andiben Patel has directed Vice-Chancellors of Universities across the state to send college degrees to students by post. The decision was formalised in an online review meeting of two state institutes, Lucknow University and Bathkhande Music Institute Deemed University and ensures that students do not have to run for their degrees.

All engineering & polytechnic students in UP to take online exams in July!

Virtual assessments for first, second and third-year students shall be conducted in the last week of July.

In view of the easing pandemic situation in Uttar Pradesh, the state technical education department has announced schedules for the students of all years enrolled under it. Reportedly, the authority has stated that the final year students of technical universities and polytechnic institutes would sit for online tests in the third week of July. Besides, the virtual assessments for first, second and third-year students shall be conducted in the last week of July.

A 14-member committee set up in Lucknow University to take the decision regarding exams 2021

Special Committee of the LU will take the final call, in line with the government orders.

The Vice-Chancellor of the Lucknow University, Dr Alok Kumar Rai has set up a special 14 member committee to take the final decision regarding the examinations and promotion of the students. The committee will check the feasibility of conducting exams for third-year students and evaluate the promotion criteria for other batches, across all programmes.

This special body includes the Controller of Examinations, HODs of all departments along with the Principals of Mahila Vidhyalaya Degree college and Shia College and Superintendent of Examination, who are tasked to take the final call, in line with the government's orders.
