Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad has officially opened its expanded Terminal 2, enhancing facilities just in time for the busy Diwali travel season. The upgraded terminal now features an additional 2,100 square metres of space, which includes 20 new check-in counters, two self-baggage drop counters, and multiple self-service kiosks. This expansion aims to streamline the check-in process and reduce waiting times for passengers.

The terminal also showcases vibrant murals depicting iconic landmarks of Ahmedabad, alongside a striking sculpture representing the Lion Pride, enhancing the airport's cultural ambience.

Airport authorities announce travel advisory for Diwali

In light of the expected surge in air travel during the Diwali holidays, the airport authorities have issued a passenger advisory, urging travellers to arrive at least three hours prior to their flight departure times. With thousands anticipated to travel domestically and internationally, this advisory aims to ensure that all necessary security checks and check-in procedures can be completed efficiently.

Passengers are encouraged to allocate extra time to avoid any last-minute rush, ensuring a smooth and comfortable travel experience.

With the expansion of Terminal 2, Ahmedabad Airport is poised to handle the increased passenger volume, providing enhanced services and improved efficiency as the Diwali holiday approaches.
