In an important update for metro commuters in Ahmedabad, Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) has announced that the metro services between Vastral Gam and Thaltej will be extended to Thaltej Gam. From the 8th of December 2024, passengers will be able to use this service. The first train from the new station will depart at 6:20 AM. This extension aims to provide added convenience for daily commuters and enhance connectivity in the city.

The Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project is divided into two phases. Phase I includes two main corridors and a total of 32 stations—28 elevated and 4 underground.

The Blue Line, which connects Thaltej Gam to Vastral Gam, is part of this phase, along with the Red Line, running between Motera Stadium and APMC. The extension of services to Thaltej Gam is a key milestone in improving connectivity within the city.
