To improve engagement related civic issues around town, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) will soon to roll out the citizen volunteer programme in Ahmedabad. Students at Mudra Institute of Communication, (MICA) Ahmedabad, played a key role in drafting this polity. Simultaneously, various NGOs and government organisations were contacted to come up with a practical, viable plan of action. 

As per officials, all individuals will be free to join the volunteer engagement programme.

Civic engagement includes communities working together in both political and non-political actions to protect public values or bring a change in a community. According to Prof Shubhra Gaur, who mentored the MICA Team on the project, the voluntary citizen participation will help in overall development and beautification of Ahmedabad, and it's various districts. while also creating an impact on the lives of Ahmedabad citizens.
