Sabarmati Riverfront to have smart food kiosks and improved signage

The Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation Limited (SRFDCL) has announced plans to install smart, mobile food kiosks and a comprehensive signage system. The kiosks will be strategically placed along the upper and lower walkways, where pedestrian footfall is highest. Offering water, tea, coffee, and light snacks, these kiosks aim to provide convenient refreshment options for visitors.

In addition, the Riverfront will soon feature an international-standard wayfinding system. Initially, signage will be installed near prominent locations such as the Atal Bridge and the Event Centre in Phase I, before being expanded to the entire Riverfront. Designed for clarity and accessibility, the signage will assist visitors in navigating the area with ease, aligning with global standards for public spaces.

Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway to open by early 2025, cutting travel time to just 40–45 min

The Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway, a major infrastructure project under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, is expected to open by early 2025. The expressway will reduce travel time between Ahmedabad and Dholera to just 40–45 minutes, significantly improving regional connectivity.

The expressway will start at Sardar Patel Ring Road near Sarkhej in Ahmedabad and extend to Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR), passing key landmarks such as the upcoming Dholera International Airport at Navagam. Initially a four-lane roadway, the expressway will support a speed limit of 120 km/h, with future expansion plans to accommodate up to twelve lanes.

Gujarat faces a cold wave, temp to remain low during Christmas and New Year

Gujarat is gearing up for an intense cold wave as winter sets in across the state. According to meteorologist Ambalal Patel, temperatures are expected to drop significantly in the coming 72 hours, particularly in northern districts such as Mehsana, Sabarkantha, and Banaskantha, where cold wave conditions are likely.

A brief rise in temperatures may occur between the 16th and 22nd of December, accompanied by low-pressure formations in the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal. This could lead to isolated rain in parts of South Gujarat. However, a fresh cold spell is predicted to start from the 23rd of December, lasting until the first week of January. Residents should prepare for freezing conditions during the Christmas and New Year period.
