Akasa Air resumes Ahmedabad-Gwalior direct flight: A boost for business and connectivity!

The direct flight will resume from the 7th of April.

Akasa Air is set to resume its direct Ahmedabad-Gwalior flight from the 7th of April, marking a boost for regional trade and tourism. This reinstatement follows efforts by the Union Minister to enhance air connectivity between the two economic hubs.

Originally launched in February 2024 by then Civil Aviation Minister and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, the route was temporarily discontinued due to low passenger demand. With its revival under the airline’s summer schedule, businesses anticipate improved commercial exchanges and economic opportunities.

The move coincides with the rapid expansion of Gwalior’s aviation infrastructure. The recently inaugurated Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Airport terminal, developed at a cost of Rs 498 crore, was completed in a record 16 months and now accommodates up to 2 million passengers annually.

With enhanced air links and modern infrastructure, the resumed flight is expected to facilitate smoother trade, increase tourism, and strengthen the economic corridor between Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.
