Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Service (AMTS) has announced a ₹705 crore budget for the fiscal year 2025-26, aimed at improving public transportation facilities. The budget includes a ₹23 crore increase from the previous proposal and introduces several key initiatives.

Key highlights include a 50% concession on tickets for widows and an 85% fare reduction for females studying beyond Class 10. Additionally, free bus passes will be introduced for students pursuing education after Class 10 who do not have parents.

As part of its expansion, AMTS will add 445 new AC buses to its fleet, including 100 new AC CNG buses, bringing the total fleet to 1,272. The plan also features the introduction of four new electric double-decker buses and the construction of two new bus terminals in Saraspur and Meghani Nagar.

To cater to religious tourism, special buses will operate every Saturday and Sunday for religious trips. AMTS will also install food counters and vending machines at all bus terminals to improve the commuter experience. Furthermore, the ticketing system will be integrated with BRTS and Metro services, offering seamless travel options across the city.
