Azerbaijan Airlines (J2) is set to launch direct flights between Baku and Ahmedabad from July 2025, marking its third destination in India after Delhi and Mumbai. The new route will operate four times a week with Airbus A320 aircraft, offering convenient overnight services in both directions.

This move strengthens air connectivity between Gujarat and the Caucasus region, catering to tourists, business travellers, and the growing Gujarati diaspora. With Ahmedabad added, Azerbaijan Airlines will now operate 11 weekly flights across India.

The airline’s expanding network through Baku’s Heydar Aliyev International Airport also opens up easy connections to Europe, Russia, and Central Asia. The launch reflects growing demand for travel between India and Azerbaijan, fuelled by business ties and simplified visa processes.
