Should this trial project prove effective, it will be rolled out to all state traffic personnel.

The responsibilities of traffic police are undeniably challenging. Managing traffic amidst intense heat, pollution, and dust adds an extra layer of strain on policemen's physical and mental well-being. In an effort to alleviate these challenges, the Ahmedabad Traffic Police recently introduced AC helmets for its officers. Currently in the experimental phase, these specialized AC helmets have been assigned to six constables as a pilot program.

Crafted by Noida-based Karam Safety Private Limited, these helmets are battery-powered and necessitate an eight-hour charging cycle. Their distinctive design comes with a range of advantages. These helmets can draw in air from the surrounding environment, subsequently purify and cool it, before directing the cooled air towards the wearer's face.

Additionally, they incorporate a protective shield that acts as a barrier for the face. This not only minimizes the impact of excessive heat on the face but also offers safeguarding against the inhalation of harmful particles and dust. Only time will tell if these helmets will be implemented widespread.
