India's second oldest stock exchange after the Bombay Stock Exchange, the Ahmedabad Stock Exchange was established way back in 1894 as a Public Charitable Trust. From the significance of its logo to its transition over the years, let's delve deeper into the history of this iconic place in the 'Manchester of the East'.

The exchange functioned in an old heritage building till 1996

Till 1996, Ahmedabad Stock Exchange functioned in a building constructed in 1919 when the Bombay Share and Stock Brokers association collaborated with the Ahmedabad Share and Stock Brokers association. And that heritage style building served as ASE's home before it was shifted to Kamdhenu complex in 1996.

The famous ASE building boasts a majestic European façade with intricate decorations. Furthermore, the iconic building faces one of Ahmedabad's oldest and most popular pols, the mahurat pol.

Ahmedabad Stock Exchange's logo of wealth and prosperity

The logo of Ahmedabad Stock Exchange is the swastika, which is one of the most auspicious symbols of Hinduism that symbolizes endless wealth and prosperity. Seeing how the place has worked as an inspiration of entrepreneurship and growth for over a century, the swastika serves as a fit emblem for the historic organization.
