IIM Ahmedabad launches leadership program for visually challenged women professionals

In a first-of-its-kind initiative, IIM Ahmedabad has started a leadership program for visually challenged women professionals. Featuring sessions on leadership and financial literacy, the program aims to equip the participating women with the necessary skills they will need to take up leadership roles in the future.

The program is named 'Leadership and Strategic Thinking for Social Sector'

The program, which has been made possible with the joint support of Lal PathLabs foundation, kicked off on Tuesday, i.e., 25th April, with an opening address by Professor Bharat Bhasker, Director of IIM Ahmedabad. Named 'Leadership and Strategic Thinking for Social Sector', the program is being attended by participants from Delhi, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Odisha.

What will the participants learn at the program? 

During the 3-day program at IIM Ahmedabad, the 25 participants will be taught ongoing trends on a slew of subjects. The topics include Strategic Thinking for the Social Sector to Governance and Compliance Issues in NGOs and Financial Literacy: Issues Challenges and Opportunities to Managing Negotiations to Leading Self in the Social Sector, among others.

The professors have paid special attention to tweak their teaching method according to the special needs of the visually challenged women participating in this IIM Ahmedabad program.
