Knocksense Shorts| Ahmedabad reports 21 new COVID cases, Gujarat's active cases stand at 79

As of January 1, 2024, Ahmedabad saw an increase of 21 new COVID cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the total active cases in the city to 60. These new cases include 15 men and 6 women from various areas, like Bodakdev, Naranpura, Jodhpur, Ghatlodia, Paldi, Sarkhej, and Navrangpura.

According to data provided by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), eight of the affected individuals have a recent travel history, with destinations including Canada, Mumbai, the US and Kerala. Despite this, there is no cause for alarm, as eleven patients have already been discharged, and only one required hospitalization, as indicated in the latest reports.

With 79 active COVID cases, Gujarat now stands as the seventh-ranked Indian state in terms of infection numbers.
