The Gujarat Government has introduced a new online portal, the Gujarat Common Admission Services (GCAS), aiming to simplify the college admission process for students across the state. Launched on Wednesday, the portal addresses the often complicated and time-consuming nature of researching and applying for college admissions.

The GCAS portal will serve as a centralized platform for students to apply to all colleges affiliated with the state's 14 universities. It is designed to streamline the admission process, assisting students in choosing suitable courses and preferred institutions, both government-run and self-financed.

To utilize the GCAS portal, students are required to pay a registration fee of Rs 300. The initiative covers admission services for a range of academic programs, including graduate, postgraduate, and PhD programs. Notably, the portal provides information in both Gujarati and English languages, ensuring accessibility for a diverse audience.
