Knocksense Shorts | Sabarmati Riverfront closed as Cyclone Biparjoy looms over Ahmedabad

The state of Gujarat is currently facing a critical situation as it is under imminent threat from cyclone Biparjoy. This cyclone is anticipated to unleash cyclonic storms in 8 districts of the state including Ahmedabad.

In light of this impending disaster, the civic authorities of Ahmedabad have diligently completed all necessary arrangements and devised comprehensive mitigation measures. Furthermore, they have announced their preparedness plan on this Tuesday.

According to the preparedness plan, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has made the decision to close the lower promenade of the Sabarmati Riverfront on both sides.

In accordance with the instructions, the Sabarmati Riverfront will be completely closed to the public, and all recreational activities in the area will be cancelled on June 15-16. AMC has further deployed 15 teams of fire brigades on standby in the vicinity.
