In alignment with the objective to foster sustainable practices and to support India's goal of achieving net zero emissions, the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) Airport in Ahmedabad is undertaking efforts towards the implementation of electric cabs for pick-ups and drops.

Reportedly, the airport operator and the regulatory agencies are in talks with a Delhi-based company for the implementation of the EV cab services. It is anticipated that by the conclusion of 2023, a fleet comprising 400 electric vehicles will be operational at the airport premises, thereby presenting an eco-friendly alternative for seamless transportation to and from the airport.

In addition, the SVPI Airport of Ahmedabad is presently undergoing substantial upgrades to its infrastructure in order to cope with the recent surge in passenger traffic.
