This is the first time in 6 years that Goa has been caught in a heatwave

Muskaan Tekwani

Daytime temperatures in Goa soared at 37.2°C on Sunday and 37.8°C on Monday, creating heatwave conditions in the state for the first time in six years. With the mercury rising nearly 6 degrees over normal, Goa experienced uncomfortable heat, in contrast to its breezy and pleasant weather. In wake of the same, the IMD has raised a 'yellow warning' here, for the temperature is likely to remain 4 degrees over normal in the coming days.
