Moving towards the use of futuristic energy resources, the Goa Power Minister announced the state's decision to upgrade all 76 government buildings with solar panels. The pilot project will also include the installation of solar panels at the Goa Assembly complex as well. As per the reports, the move aims at popularising the use of solar energy as a major power source across the state, towards the mission of green and sustainable development.

Solar power, green power!

Power Minister Sudin Dhavalikar in a recent statement said, "76 government buildings in Panaji will have solar panel installations. The tender will be opened today. This is a pilot project for us. After completion of the pilot project, definitely we will go to each and every place where there is a huge government building."

Additionally, a scheme to set up a one-megawatt solar power facility is in the state pipeline. The authority is purportedly considering the Goa Engineering Complex campus at Farmagudi in South Goa for the same.
