With the announcement of the dates for the second terminal examination for Class X and XII, students in Goa can now begin with the full-fledged last-minute preparations for the final term exams. After announcing the Practical exams for Classes X and XII, the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Education’s (GBSHE) second terminal exam has been scheduled to take place from April 5 for classes X and XII in physical mode.

Over 20,594 students are expected to appear for class X exams out of which, 10,539 are boys and 10,055 are girls. While there have been 18,215 registries for Class XII, out of which 8,937 are boys and 9,278 are girls. Streamwise, for class XII, 5,502 registered for commerce, 5,080 registered for the science stream, while the arts stream and the vocational stream recorded 4,757 and 2,876 respectively.
As per the circular, “There shall be no change of examination centre for the second term examination. The seat numbers will be the same as that of the first term examination. However, fresh hall tickets will be generated online, the same to be downloaded by the respective schools,” said the board. The state board has also issued the rescheduled date sheet for the term II exams for classes X and XII.

Goa is among the few state boards to adopt NEP 2020, following which the 2021-2022 academic year for class X and XII under Goa Board has been divided into two terms. The first terminal examination was held in December & January and followed an objective format for 50% of the portion while the second terminal exam will be held for the remaining 50% of the portion, in the form of subjective questions.
